At Southern Mallee Lucerne, we know that producing premium hay is only part of the process—how it’s stored is just as important. That’s why we’ve invested in a 48m x 20m x 6m high hay storage shed, designed specifically to keep our hay safe, fresh, and mould-free.

Palletised Storage for Airflow

All hay is stacked on individual wooden pallets, allowing airflow around every bale. This prevents ground moisture from being absorbed and ensures consistent ventilation, reducing the risk of mould growth.

Constant Monitoring with Smart Technology

To guarantee top quality, we use electronic metres to constantly monitor:

• Moisture levels within the hay stacks
• Temperature readings throughout the shed

This proactive monitoring means that any potential issues are detected early, and corrective action can be taken before they affect the hay.
